THE CHAPEL ROOM
Around the balcony to your left is a small bedroom originally called the Box Room containing
an iron four poster bed and Australian cedar furniture, originally they stored trunks and luggage
in this room. The room was turned into a chapel for Mrs Crawley after her husband died in
1910, the local priest would come and say mass and hear her confessions. She only left the
house on two occasions after his death, to attend family weddings.
